FRC Opens Its Cybergate
Dr. Jack Friedlander, Vice President of Academic Affairs, expressed his thoughts regarding faculty involvement and how the FRC has already impacted the use of technology on campus.
Mark Ferrer, FRC Director, discussed the types of services the FRC will be providing and directed the crowd towards the demonstrations.
George Gregg, Director of Educational Technology, made some stirring remarks regarding the location of food and drink for the opening.
Comments: Intent of this policy is to exclude tutors, college work study students and general fund students from using FRC equipment and it is within the realm of FRC to require a certain level of expertise on the equipment.
Professional Development Days are intended to provide faculty with up to two days per semester to participate in activities that will increase their ability to promote student learning and achievement. Professional Development Days can be used to support such activities as participation in department/division instructional planning sessions and the acquisition of new skills and knowledge through such means as hands-on training, workshops and seminars.
The Vice President of Academic Affairs and the Vice President of Student Affairs, in consultation with the Academic Senate and the College President, will develop guidelines and procedures for Professional Development Days.
